I have known Rikki Swin for about five years through business and friendship. From the beginning, as Rikki’s realtor I was impressed by her ability to navigate through the occasionally treacherous terrain of real estate acquisition with dignity. Rikki does her research and has an ability to negotiate a “win, win” solution which is considerate of all parties. She has a keen business sense combined with a wise, philosophical outlook that is a result of having been blessed with a sharp mind and then having a lifetime of experience to go with it. If Rikki is passionate about something, you can be sure that she has the capacity to change the world to see a goal accomplished. Rikki chose Victoria, British Columbia to be her home and she has embraced this wonderful place (that many of us know so well and sometimes take for granted) with great enthusiasm and respect. This is obvious by her choice of organizations - I am quite sure that if Rikki has chosen The Land Conservancy to dedicate herself to, she will be an outstanding asset to them. I wish both The Land Conservancy and Rikki all the best in their endeavors.

I am a member of the Board of Directors for the Art Gallery of Victoria and have worked with Rikki Swin on the Art in Bloom Committee for the Art Gallery. She showed complete competence in understanding the concept, to originate a design, professionally delivered and timely. It was a pleasure to have such a skilled, efficient and knowledgeable person, like Rikki, to work on our team, and to help organize one of our most successful events of the year.

On several other occasions, I have worked with Rikki on the Coats For Kids campaign, where she illustrated her organizational and professional skills in a manner in which she was a pleasure to volunteer with.

" I have watched Rikki's involvement in this community with growing admiration and frankly, amazement. In four short years she has embraced many causes dear to my heart and applied her expertise and experience for the betterment of all. I had the pleasure of working with her on a community project this past year and found her to be a committed, professional, strategic and effective individual who would be an asset to any board of directors.

As a frequent visitor to Victoria over the past several years, I’ve had the good fortune to become acquainted with Rikki; At first, as a fellow photographer, then as a friend, and as my fortuitous luck would have it, as a business partner. This is what I've learned about her:

If I were a businessman, I would have complete confidence in her knowledge and grasp of the day at hand, and faith in her keen eye and intuition for the future.

If I were a builder, I would be busily breaking ground with her blueprints reliably in hand.

If I were a banker, I would trust her with my money.

Of course, I'm not any of these people. I’m a photographer, and I know without a doubt that my greatest inspiration—my deepest resource--is The Land. I know I could sleep peacefully at night with the knowledge that Rikki Swin’s next mission was watching over my cherished landscapes!

I urge everyone to nominate Rikki Swin for the board of TLC. Rikki is

one of the most compassionate and intelligent people I have ever had

the pleasure to know. She is dedicated and has a gift in many aspects

of life and business. She has a sharp clarity and astuteness in

knowing what needs to be done and in how best to get things done. She

has an incredible business sense and is most hard working. To be sure

having Rikki on the Board of TLC would be a huge and long lasting

credit and a blessing to every endeavor associated with the TLC and

would ensure a wonderful longevity.

I am one of the first people lucky enough to have met Rikki Swin when

she moved to Victoria.

Rikki and I met when she came to my boutique on Fort Street looking

for tables. We became friends on that day she even said she thought we

would be her new best friends in Victoria and we did. I think Rikki

will be a great asset to the TLC with all of her skills they would be

hard pressed to find someone as creditable. The TLC is lucky she would

even consider being on the board with her busy schedule. Rikki has

helped the community in so many ways since her arrival to Victoria .

Rikki is involved with COATS FOR KIDS and PEERS just to name a few.

I have known Rikki Swin for four years. In that time we have worked together on various Boards and/or Committees including:

-Greater Victoria Art Gallery

-Coats for Kids

-Victoria Conservatory of Music

-P.E.E.R.S.

-The Land Conservancy

Rikki is always a great participant in any fund raising endeavors and tackles problems with a clear and useful plan. Among other things, Rikki is an advanced computer technician and has used her skills often to help us in many useful ways, always without cost.

Rikki possesses many talents and attributes but her intelligence and generosity lead the way.
