I strongly endorse the nomination of Rikki Swin for the board of TLC. Rikki has been an invaluable member of the TLC board since she joined TLC in March. She brings outstanding financial understanding and business expertise, skills of a calibre that the board has not had before. In these challenging financial times these are critical skills that I believe we need on the TLC board. These skills are coupled with her commitment financially to TLC and her total dedication to a sustainable future for TLC.

I have known Rikki Swin since her arrival to Victoria. She immediately became involved and committed to this Community and has continually shown leadership on all levels.

Rikki is a person who takes her responsibilities very seriously and I can attest to her hard work as she has helped me on several of my endeavours. Her business acumen is well known and I believe TLC can only continue to benefit by her presence on the Board.

I have never met someone with more genuine commitment, positivism,

integrity, devotion and enthusiasm than Rikki Swin. Over the past few years

I have had the opportunity to view Rikki's drive, no nonsense approach and

generousity at close range. Whether she has been researching a special

cause, taking courses to expand her circle of knowledge, running the Coats

for Kids program, helping the TLC or conducting a PEERS fundraising session

at her home, her professionalism and kindness has shone through again and

again. Rikki's respect for others, true caring and mentorship make her a

wonderful person to be around and a major asset for our community. We are

so fortunate she chose Victoria as her home.

"Rikki Swin would be a natural for the TLC Board. She is a high-

calibre professional with focus and integrity. I have had the good

fortune of collaborating with her in Victoria and hope to continue to

do so. I am sure she would be a positive force on the TLC Board of

Directors."

Rikki has been a generous contributor with her time and business expertise to many British Columbia projects. The Land Conservancy is a cause that is near and dear to her heart. She brings many years of business expertise in running successful corporations and this experience, combined with her interest in preserving British Columbia’s precious reserve of land, makes her a great candidate for Board membership. When evaluating a charity for a contribution, I know from personal observation that Rikki is very concerned that the highest possible percentage of donations goes towards actual recipients and as little as humanly possible towards administration of the charity. I would expect her to strive towards the same goals with The Land Conservancy – bringing fiscal responsibility to the fore while not losing sight of the mission of the organization.

Akin to many not – for – profit organizations in our community, The Victoria Conservatory of Music relies on volunteer support to achieve our fundraising goals.

Heartfelt thanks for the efforts of Rikki Swin in ensuring the tremendous success of the Conservatory’s 25th Annual Garden Tour in May 2007. Rikki’s countless volunteer hours, expertise and assistance are applauded; we would not achieve the level of success without this support.

Those of us privileged to work in the Arts feel honoured and truly blessed by Rikki Swin’s contribution to the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Thank You!

Any organization would surely benefit from the passion, leadership and voluntarism of Rikki Swin who truly exemplifies community spirit.

I am writing to endorse Rikki Swins candidacy with respect to the TLC. Rikki is a gifted entrepreneur – a skill set we desperately need to hold onto. She has served on the board in an appointed capacity and with the term complete has agreed to run for election. I hope you will all support her. It is not enough to believe in a cause, the financial means and the management of same are critical to the long term success; these are the skills she will bring to the table.

Dear Rikki,

I found you were running for the TLC Board and was DELIGHTED! How can they be that lucky? Your enormous intelligence and skill are but one part of you. What has always struck me about you is your capacity for ethical behaviour.

Thank you for being so generous and so damn decent.

I was lucky enough to meet Rikki shortly after she moved to Victoria.

I consider her a friend but beyond that I am really impressed by

her intelligence and her vision. We don’t get someone with her skills

set who is willing to take a leadership role in environmental and

social justice organizations that often. We are really lucky she

has chosen to make Victoria her home!

I endorse the nomination of Rikki Swin who brings a wealth of business experience and commitment to TLC. I have worked with Rikki on several community projects and found her to be thorough, supportive and an excellent team player. By making a substantial financial commitment to TLC and volunteering on the Finance Committee Rikki is dedicated to working towards TLC's future financial sustainability.

I was surprised when I learned that Rikki Swin had only moved to Victoria four years ago. She has become deeply entrenched in the community and a strong supporter off The Land Conservancy. Her many talents would be a welcome addition to the Board of Directors.

I have known Rikki Swin for approximately three years and I take much pleasure in writing a few words to enable you to get to know her a little better also.

I find Rikki to be very personable, compassionate and kind. She always makes one feel very welcome in her home; she gives time and support to help others as she does with my daughter’s music career. Rikki is a very gifted and motivated person who uses her abilities and successes to better the world around her, whether it be helping and supporting friends and family or working for more than one charitable organization.

Rikki demonstrates her love for dogs and children and they in turn reciprocate that love. I find Rikki to have a gentle aura surrounding her and therefore is very comfortable to be with. I wish her all the best in her future pursuits .I know she will be a great asset to any organization.

I have known Ms. Swin for over 25 years both professionally and socially. Ms. Swin is an asset to anything she puts her heart and mind to. I know that she will be an excellent board member for the TLC.

I am certain that her temporary status on the board has proven itself thus far.

Ms. Swin enhances her environment where ever she resides and does so with wholehearted conviction, selflessness and fundamental fairness.

Ms. Swin is the most conscientious, serious minded individual when it comes to improving and maintaining her environment. She has an eye for natural beauty and is an outdoor lover.

Conservation issues have been foremost on her incredible ''accomplished lifetime agenda'' ever since I have known her.

One can rest assured that the preservation and beautification of Victoria will be her top priority if she gets permanently elected as a board member in this up-coming Sept.2007 election.

I will be more than happy to personally reply to any questions regarding Ms. Swin. I know her to be honest, diligent, & sincere - as well as a reliable, credible person!

Yours Truly,
